Take the Ghost Walk through Old Wilmington

The popular 90-minute walk through Old Wilmington gives you an adventure through some of the city’s most active haunted houses and burial sites. While on the walk, you listen to eerie ghost stories taken from the city’s history and told by professional storytellers and ghost hunters. This is a family-friendly event great for those who love haunted tales and spooky sights. You may even spot a ghost as you are walking through this tour!

Check out the Airlie Oyster Roast

Wilmington’s local fall tradition started back in 1905 when oysters were eaten at an October festival along the banks of Bradley Creek. In 2000, this tradition returned and became a great way to enjoy oysters and support the fundraiser for Airlie’s Environmental Education Programs. You can enjoy everything from food, oysters, drinks, and entertainment for the whole family. Join the oyster roast this October 15th!

Cape Fear Kite Festival

The Cape Fear Kite Festival is a great family-friendly activity where you can watch kites of all shapes and sizes as they fly high over Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. Enjoy many vendors that share their sky art or other locally sourced crafts from artisans and vendors. You can enjoy delicious food and beautiful park views while you watch the kites soar through the sky. Enjoy the Cape Fear Kite Festival this year on November 6th and 7th.
